Why do we do this work?

Stronger Reliability

Continued maintenance reduces interruptions, improves stability and delivers more consistent performance, even during peak hours.

More Capacity

Expanded pathways and smaller service groups help reduce congestion so your connection stays fast, responsive and ready for more devices.

Future Ready

Upgraded electronics, new components and added fiber prepare your neighborhood for faster speed capabilities and future technologies.

Process of Scheduled Maintenance

Here’s how we ensure a smooth experience from start to finish:

Step 1: Notification

We let you know when we’re working in your area and how to prepare via email, postcard or text message.

Step 2: Preparation

We mark and prep the area so crews can complete your upgrade safely and without delays.

Step 3: Upgrade Work

This may include laying fiber, replacing electronics, splitting service groups or improving capacity in your neighborhood.

Step 4: Restoration

No. You don’t need to be home during our work. We will notify you of your exact scheduled maintenance window and details on what to expect via email, postcard or text message so you can plan ahead.

It’s possible. Some work may take place in or near your yard or in nearby utility easements. If entry is needed, we’ll let you know via your preferred communication preference, and we ask that pets be kept indoors and fences unlocked. Any areas we access will be restored as close to their previous condition as possible.

Not sure of your notification preferences? Check in My Account.

In some cases, we may need to dig or temporarily disturb landscaping while accessing buried equipment, fiber lines or utilities. We always restore any areas we access, including your yard, as close to their previous condition as possible.

Some upgrades happen in stages, such as prepping equipment, installing components, testing connections or reducing the number of customers on a service group to improve capacity. Even if work spans several days, downtime is typically brief and not continuous through the full scheduled maintenance window.

Some network improvements are behind-the-scenes, supporting long-term reliability, capacity, performance and speed. Even if the impact doesn’t feel immediate, these updates prevent congestion and prepare your area for future technology and usage demands.

Generally, no. Because this is planned maintenance, not an outage, we notify you in advance so you can plan around temporary service interruptions. Most downtime is brief and not continuous throughout the entire time we complete our work.
