International Plans

Manage international plans and settings using your Midco Mobile My Account.

International Calling and Texting

International long distance generally applies when you are in the U.S., and you call or text other countries. Rates and included destinations depend on the international option you add.

If you’re planning travel, add the international option before you leave to reduce last-minute issues. Confirm the countries you’ll visit and the expected rates.

International Roaming

International roaming applies when you travel outside the U.S. and use your phone (data/calls/texts). Roaming typically requires you to add roaming credits/funds before use.

Roaming credits are commonly added in set increments per line. Add enough to cover your expected data usage, since apps can use background data while traveling.

Activating on Your Device

Before departing, you will need to turn on roaming within your device settings.

On your iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Cellular, followed by Cellular Data Options.
  3. Toggle Data Roaming to on.

On your Android:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Network & Internet or Connections.
  3. Go to SIMs or SIM Manager and tap SIM.
  4. Toggle Roaming to on.

Tips:

  • Confirm your device has the latest software updates.
  • Save your Midco Mobile account login details in case you need them.

Billing Cycle Reset

If you reset your cycle while traveling, confirm whether it changes your renewal date and whether it impacts any add-ons on the account.

Destinations and Rates

Rates differ by country and service type (data vs. voice vs. text). Always review rates for each destination (including layovers or multi-country trips).

Multi-destination Trips

If you visit multiple countries, plan for different rate structures across each location and confirm you have enough roaming credits for the highest-cost destination.

Calling/Texting Other Countries

International long-distance rules apply when you’re in the U.S.; roaming rules apply when you’re abroad. If calling fails while traveling, try using Wi-Fi calling (if available) or a messaging app over Wi-Fi.

Calling/Texting the U.S.

When traveling, calling/texting the U.S. may be treated as roaming usage depending on your plan and roaming credits. Use Wi-Fi where possible to improve reliability and control costs.
