Add Device Through 2.4 GHz Network
Some devices that do not have a user interface or screen, like security cameras or smart bulbs, only connect to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection. Things like your phone and computer most likely run on a 5 GHz connection, which allows for faster speeds and a more stable experience. To set up these devices that run on a 2.4 GHz band, you need an app on a phone or tablet that is also connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
You can use the IoT Onboarding Mode to temporarily steer your phone or tablet to that 2.4 GHz network.
- Tap the People icon found in the lower center of the main Midco Wi-Fi app screen.
- Tap Devices.
- Tap on the device to steer to the 2.4 GHz network.
- Tap on IoT Onboarding Mode.
The device will connect to the 2.4 GHz network for 60 minutes so you can complete the setup.
If you finish setting up before the 60 minutes is up, you can disable the IoT Onboarding Mode by tapping Disable in the app.
