December 14, 2015 - Grand Forks, ND: Dan Hammer has stepped down from his position as on-air talent covering University of North Dakota athletics for MidcoSN®. Hammer will continue to call play-by-play on a freelance basis for all remaining UND home men’s hockey broadcasts on MidcoSN in the 2015-2016 season.

“Ever since Dan joined us in June 2012, he’s wrapped himself in all UND broadcasts. We thank Dan for his service and commitment to the growth of MidcoSN. We will miss him greatly,” said Mark Powell, who leads MidcoSN as VP of Midcontinent Business Solutions. “MidcoSN remains committed to UND sports now and in the future.”

“UND Athletics thanks Dan for his tireless work representing us on MidcoSN,” said UND Director of Athletics Brian Faison. “Dan did a great job on the air and behind the scenes preparing for his many duties. We wish him well in the future.”

Hammer’s resignation from his full-time position is effective December 16. Other MidcoSN on-air talent will assume additional responsibilities. Alex Heinert will call all remaining UND men’s and women’s basketball contests. Greg Enkers will host North Dakota Hockey with Brad Berry and UND Sports Extra through the end of the season – adding that to his existing role as host for NCHC: Between the Boards.

MidcoSN will begin its search immediately for on-air talent to be ready for the 2016-2017 athletics season at UND.
