Midcontinent Named as One of 50 Best Places to Work by Prairie Business

Sioux Falls, SD: Midcontinent Communications® has been selected as one of the 50 Best Places to Work by Prairie Business magazine, and is considered to be among the top 25 large employers. Midcontinent employs more than 1,300 people in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin – a similar region where Prairie Business covers business news and innovation.

“We are pleased to once again be named as a great workplace in our region, this time from Prairie Business magazine. Midcontinent recognizes that the success of our services and delivery of great customer experiences starts by having the best talent available working for us in a positive environment,” says Debbie Stang, VP of Human Resources at Midcontinent. “Thank you to all Midcontinent employees, because your dedication and commitment to excellence make this award possible.”

Annually, Prairie Business invites employees from for-profit companies to complete an anonymous employee engagement and satisfaction survey available on the company’s website. In 2015, more than 2,500 employee surveys representing more than 140 companies were voluntarily submitted. Based on the feedback, Prairie Business selects the top 50 employers, with 25 each in large employer and small employer categories

Prairie Business noted employees are placing greater value on “managerial styles that allow for personal and professional growth, open communication among team members, and appreciation for a job well done as reasons why they think their workplace is best.” Midcontinent has long heard from its employees that those are reasons why they join the company and why they choose to stay.

Prairie Business has compiled the 50 Best Places to Work list for two years. This is the first year Midcontinent has been recognized on it.
