Midco Sports Network Names Brian Shawn Voice of NDSU Basketball

October 24, 2016 – Fargo, ND: MidcoSN® welcomes Brian Shawn to its on-air talent team, focusing on North Dakota State University men’s and women’s basketball coverage.

  • Shawn has more than ten years of experience in sports broadcasting and play-by-play – and is an award-winning sports journalist.
  • He’s spent five years as the live announcer for both NDSU basketball and football.
  • Shawn has worked for MidcoSN as a freelancer – providing analysis and reporting for high school and college sports.
  • This is the first year Shawn will call basketball for MidcoSN.

In addition to calling live play-by-play for Midco Sports Network®, Shawn will host The Bison Basketball Show, an all-new program premiering November 3. The show will air Thursdays at 5:30 PM through March on MidcoSN, which earned NDSU basketball TV broadcasting rights for three years, starting with this season.

As a trusted voice for Bison fans, Brian has built and maintained valuable relationships with NDSU coaches, staff and athletes.”

A native of Bloomington, MN, Shawn will work from Midco’s newly expanded West Fargo operations center, which includes a new MidcoSN studio.

As well as being a seasoned sports communicator, Shawn is involved in the Fargo/Moorhead community through the Chamber of Commerce, and also serves on the board of directors for both Access of the Red River Valley and the Fargo Lions Club.
