Sioux Falls, SD – May 11, 2022:

In Midco’s 90 years, evolution – the ability to change to meet people’s needs – has kept the company relevant. In the spirit of evolution, Chair and Chief Executive Officer Pat McAdaragh created a new President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) role to focus on the company’s critical customer-facing activities. Former Chief Technology & Information Officer Tom McAdaragh was named President and COO. He leads the Operations, IT and Technology teams, which totals nearly 1,300 team members.

“Tom’s education, extensive experience and strong performance position him well for this role,” said Pat McAdaragh. “I have the utmost confidence in Tom, knowing he will continue to elevate our network, product engineering and information security.”

Supporting the President and COO, Ben Dold was named Senior Vice President of Operations. In his role, Ben is focused on providing a great customer experience and helping the organization achieve its mission to be the best communications company in the country.

“Ben is a proven leader of people. He cares deeply about our teams that directly impact our customers,” said Pat McAdaragh. “Ben also understands that we must continue to get better, providing ongoing stability and enhanced services for our customers.”

Tom McAdaragh - President and COO

Tom McAdaragh has been in various key technology and operations leadership positions for nearly four decades. He is responsible for Midco’s overall technology direction including the Midco network, corporate computing infrastructure, product engineering and overseeing operations. Currently, he leads teams in information technology, information security, network engineering, network operations, product engineering as well as the overall operations of Midco. His engineering teams architect and design the region’s only wholly owned, engineered and operated network. His network services team ensures the network is delivering the highest performance and reliability possible. He also leads the investigation and implementation of new software technologies that are used to support the operations of the company and deliver product offerings to Midco customers. Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and electronics engineering from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He has served on the Sioux Empire United Way board of directors.

Ben Dold - Senior Vice President of Operations

Ben Dold leads the operations function for Midco which includes the field operations, construction, supply chain, business operations and customer care teams. In his role, Ben is focused on providing a great customer experience and helping the organization achieve its mission to be the best communications company in the country for its customers, team members, business partners and communities. Prior to joining Midco in 2010, Ben worked in corporate finance and strategy in the CPG and distribution industries. He earned an MBA from St. Cloud State University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. John’s University. In 2015, he was named to Prairie Business Magazine’s top 40 under 40. Ben is a graduate of the Leadership Sioux Falls program and is a current board member of the Butterfly House & Aquarium in Sioux Falls.
