West Metro Minneapolis, MN – November 21, 2024: Midco is excited to bring its commitment to excellent customer service, its superior fiber internet and its dedication to being a force for good to 18 communities around Lake Minnetonka. The communities include: Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Independence, Long Lake, Loretto, Maple Plain, Medina, Minnetonka Beach, Minnetrista, Mound, Orono, Shorewood, Spring Park, St. Bonifacius, Tonka Bay, Victoria and Woodland. In total, more than 36,000 homes and businesses will have access to Midco’s reliable and fast fiber services by 2028.
“Our commitment to the communities around Lake Minnetonka is to deliver the best technology available for a superior online experience now and into the future,” said Ben Dold, Midco’s Chief Operations Officer. “Fiber optimizes our network for speed and reliability, keeping our customers connected to the world.”
Already this year, Midco has begun building fiber and installing services in Independence, Minnetrista and Victoria. Internet services are now available to more than 3,000 homes and businesses in those three communities.
"The City of Minnetrista has been grateful for our partnership with Midco, which began in 2022, bringing high-speed internet to over 500 homes. This expansion has greatly enhanced connectivity and quality of life for our residents,” said Minnetrista Mayor Lisa Whalen. “We are excited to continue working with Midco as they expand further throughout the city, offering an additional high-quality internet option to all Minnetrista residents. We look forward to many more years of collaboration and are confident that this partnership will continue to support the growth and success of our community!"

Midco’s Fiber Network delivers a best-in-class symmetrical, low-latency internet connection capable of speeds up to 5 Gbps. This state-of-the-art infrastructure ensures that residents and businesses in these communities can enjoy unparalleled internet performance for streaming, gaming, remote work, online learning and more.
Along with providing excellent customer service and a superior network at a fair price, Midco is a dedicated community partner. Recently, the Midco Foundation awarded WeCAN, which serves individuals and families in need in Western Hennepin County, with a grant.
"We are thankful and proud to welcome our partner Midco as our new neighbor. Their generous donation has already impacted the families we serve in meaningful ways,” said WeCAN Executive Director Chris Anderson. “I really appreciate that Midco prioritizes being active and involved, helping foster a sense of unity and collaboration. I look forward to continuing our work together to make positive changes in the lives of the people in the communities we serve."
