Midco Chair & CEO Pat McAdaragh Receives Prairie Business Leaders and Legacies Award

July 6, 2026 – Sioux Falls, SD: Midco Chair & CEO Pat McAdaragh has been honored by Prairie Business magazine as a 2026 recipient of their “Leaders and Legacies” award.   

“These top executives have established high-level leadership throughout their careers, built companies, expanded family businesses and set examples of excellence for their teams,” said Prairie Business editor Carrie McDermott.  

The award celebrates the more than 45 years McAdaragh has dedicated to Midco and the contributions he has made in roles including Chief Operating Officer, Director of Treasury Operations, Corporate Controller and ultimately CEO.  

McAdaragh helped shape Midco into the company it is today while continuing to lead the innovation and community investments that will define the company’s future. His accomplishments recognized by Prairie Business include:  

  • Leading Midco’s transformation into a regional communications provider that connects more than 600 communities through a fiber-fast network spanning 21,000 miles 
  • Championing Fiber Forward, Midco’s $500 million investment in fiber expansion and network upgrades 
  • Advancing product innovation through efforts such as IPTV and the launch of Midco Mobile 
  • Promoting a culture of Bestness, a philosophy he originated that reflects Midco’s pursuit of excellence in everything they do 
  • Supporting meaningful community impact through the Midco Foundation and numerous regional partnerships and sponsorships that strengthen the communities Midco serves

Thank you for your leadership, vision and commitment to Midco, our team members and the communities we serve,” said Ben Dold, Midco President and Chief Operating Officer. “We all benefit from the culture you have fostered and the care you show to everyone you interact with.” 

“I joined Midco in 1981 and quickly fell in love — with the work itself, with the leadership who shaped me, with the teammates who walked alongside me and with the dynamic industries we were part of,” McArdaragh said. “Why have I stayed? Because that love has never left. It’s still here, even now.”
