June 23, 2026 – Pipestone, MN: Midco is proud to announce plans for the expansion of fiber internet, cable television and phone services in Pipestone following the city’s approval of a cable franchise agreement for Midco.  

“We are thrilled to bring our first-class fiber network and unparalleled customer experience to Pipestone beginning this summer,” said Midco President and Chief Operating Officer Ben Dold. “When Pipestone residents see our Midco trucks in their neighborhoods, we want them to know that our quality construction promise is part of our Midco Customer Commitment. We care deeply about the communities we serve and look forward to being a force for good in Pipestone for many years to come.”  

Network construction is already underway in the city. Midco is investing $4 million in private capital to bring cutting-edge fiber to the premises network to over 2,500 homes and businesses in Pipestone. Midco is committed to being part of the Pipestone community and has already started giving back with a $2,500 grant to the Pipestone County Area Food Shelf.  

“Food insecurity continues to impact many families across the Pipestone area, and the Food Shelf is on the front lines helping those in need,” said Rhonda Erickson, Senior Community Relations Manager and Midco Foundation Executive Director. “We’re proud to support Pipestone with this grant and look forward to partnering with area nonprofits to maximize their positive impact on the communities we serve.” 

Midco is also proud to be a gold-level sponsor of Pipestone’s 37th Annual Water Tower Festival, the Pipestone Area Chamber’s largest event featuring entertainment, food vendors, performing arts, a car show and lots of community spirit from June 25 – 28.

• Step 1: Marking. Safety first! Before digging begins, we prioritize safety by working with local authorities to flag and spray paint underground utilities.  
• Step 2: Prepping. Protecting your property. Our construction teams set fiber-optic access points at public easements to minimize disruptions to your property.  
• Step 3: Laying. Precise placement. Guided by markings, we carefully expose underground utilities and install conduits for the fiber cables.  
• Step 4: Restoring. Tidying your space. After construction, we remove all markers and restore your lawn.  
• Step 5: Installing. Flexible scheduling. Set up an appointment at your convenience, and our technicians will arrive on time.
