Extender LED Light Guide

All extenders have LED lights that indicate the current status of the extender based on the blink pattern.

In addition to the blink pattern, extender LEDs can display different colors to help differentiate between patterns. Understanding when the different blink patterns are displayed helps identify when an extender is operating normally.

Boot Up 

Solid Blue 

Status: Extender startup in progress.
  

Green Pulse 

Status: Extender is attempting to find a network connection during startup. 

  

Searching for a Connection 

White Pulse 

Status: Extender is attempting to find a connection to the network. 

  

Pulsing After Three Minutes 

Status: Extender is attempting to find a connection to the cloud. Occurs when an extender loses cloud connection but has a connection to the internal network. 

   

Normal Operation 

Green Blink 

Status: 

  • Update or optimization is in progress. 

OR 

  • You’re renaming the extender in the Midco Wi-Fi app. Bluetooth locating is not required for this to occur. Extenders not being renamed have the LED turned off. There is a 20-minute timeout once the LED has been triggered for renaming. 

  

No Light 

Status: 

  • Under normal operation, network and cloud connections present. 

OR 

  • Network under normal operation or cloud under planned outage. All cloud triggered LED states are turned off during planned outages. 

  

Failure 

If your extender fails for any reason, contact Midco for a replacement. 

  

Red Rapid Blink 

Status: There is an issue with the bootloader that prevents the extender from completing the boot up sequence. 

  

Delay Followed by Solid Red 

Status: Extender start-up is not instantaneous. This is caused by a manufacturing defect which can cause other issues. 

 

No Light (Extender is Functioning) 

Status: Extender is functioning normally, but LED does not come on for any trigger on known working outlet. This indicates the LED is no longer functional.

Boot Up 

Solid Green 

Status: Extender startup in progress. 

 

Connecting to the Network 

Blue Blink 

Status: Extender is connecting to the network.  

  

Blue Double Blink 

Status: Device locating. 

 

Upgrade in Progress 

Blue Double Blink 

Status: Network optimization is in progress. 

  

Green Blink 

Status: Update in progress. 

  

Normal Operation 

No Light 

Status: Connected to the network.
