Midco Foundation Announces $120,000 in Grant Awards

July 14, 2025 – Sioux Falls, SD: As part of an ongoing commitment to being a force for good in the communities it serves, Midco has awarded 86 nonprofits, schools and local government organizations with Midco Foundation grants.

The organizations, which span 52 communities in Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin, learned about their grant awards in May. In total, the Midco Foundation awarded $120,000 in grant money during this semiannual round of giving.

“These grant recipients represent the very best of our communities,” said Rhonda Erickson, Senior Community Relations Manager & Midco Foundation Executive Director. “The Foundation board, comprised of volunteer Midco team members, was inspired by the passion, impact and dedication in the applications we received, and we’re incredibly humbled to partner with these 86 organizations to be a force for good in the communities we serve.”

The Foundation board reviews and approves funding requests to charitable entities twice a year. Since 1988, the Foundation has awarded more than $6 million to causes within its service area. Some themes from this round of giving include support for:

  • The American Red Cross to aid storm recovery in Bemidji, Minnesota and Jamestown, North Dakota
  • Food security initiatives to contribute to community health and wellbeing
  • Emergency services, including eight grants to local fire departments and the Minnehaha County Emergency Management Rescue Squad
  • Nonprofits that serve children, including three grants for Boys & Girls Club chapters

The Midco Foundation encourages nonprofit organizations in the communities it serves to apply for future grants for special projects, facilities improvements, equipment and programs.
