Military Veterans Find Their Next Mission with Midco

Read Time: 5 min.

No two days are the same for Alan Benjamin, a Midco Dispatch Manager, but his previous experience made him the perfect fit for his role at Midco where his team assists technicians, routes workorders and collaborates with other team members to provide the best possible customer experience.

“Every day presents new challenges to conquer, and in a lot of ways, the military prepared me for that,” said Alan.

Alan served in the U.S. Navy and is just one of the many veterans who have made their home at Midco.

“I decided to give it a year to ensure Midco was the place for me,” remembered Alan. “After three months, I knew it was. Midco feels like family. The camaraderie here is a close second to what I experienced in the service and was searching for upon leaving the military.”

It’s that team spirit that brings a lot of people – and military veterans – to Midco. People like Colton Mathieu, former U.S. Marine and current Warehouse and Inventory Operations Manager.

“Veterans bring a positive dynamic to just about any team,” stated Colton. “We are quick learners and team focused. We want the team to succeed. It’s not about me or I. We become leaders at a very young age and generally in stressful job roles where others depend on us.”

Colton found his way to Midco after someone told him about a position.

“I saw this as an opportunity to share what I knew as a leader to a growing team,” said Colton. “I wanted to be a part of something bigger.”

Now he is part of the team that prepares and processes the products needed for other teams to complete their operations and support our customers. He also gets to use the leadership skills he honed during his service.

“My favorite thing about working at Midco is the opportunity to support, coach and develop others into successful people at work and in their personal lives,” said Colton. “I love seeing people develop and grow over time and enjoy celebrating their successes. I consider myself a servant leader and thrive when others succeed.”

“What makes me stay is the people I get to work with, knowing how much we positively give back to our communities and our customers,” added Alan.
