June 16, 2025 – Watertown, SD: Midco is proud to join the City of Watertown Parks and Recreation Department in inviting the public to Community Swim Night at the Family Aquatic Center this Friday, June 20 from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Midco will provide free swim admissions to all participants. A free County Fair Foods of Watertown hot dog meal sponsored by Midco will be served at 4:00 p.m.  

“This is our first year sponsoring the Community Swim Night event in Watertown, and we are so excited to work with the Watertown Parks and Recreation Department to make this event happen,” said Midco Senior Community Relations Coordinator Hanna Bartels. “Families should pack up their goggles and sunscreen and expect an afternoon full of pool fun!” 

“This event and sponsorship opportunity are a great way for Midco and our department to give back to the community in a fun, safe and unique way,” said Recreation Superintendent Josh Maag. “Our Parks and Recreation Department is always looking for ways to enhance the quality of life through recreational opportunities. This was one of those events that just rose to the top of list. We want to thank Midco for this partnership and are looking forward to a great event!” 

Maag said that with any special event, there is a list of planning, communication, marketing, advertising, promotion, coordination and other details that go into making it a success. His team is preparing for an expected record-setting crowd for the event.  

This is not the first community event that Midco has supported in Watertown.  

“Our mission at Midco goes beyond reliable internet and exceptional customer service,” said Jeremy Ebsen, Field Operations Manager for Midco’s Watertown system. “We want to help our communities thrive because we live here, too. We help pack meals for the Watertown People Against Child Hunger (PACH) program, and we partner each year with Watertown Parks and Recreation on park cleanup and the annual zoo day. Giving back is core to Midco’s identity in Watertown.” 

“We’re also looking forward to Midco Free Day at the Bramble Park Zoo taking place on August 7,” Bartels said. “Watertown is special to Midco!”
