MidcoSN Wins Two Awards for Journalism Excellence

Sioux Falls, SD: Midco Sports Network® has earned regional recognition from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, which represents a six-state region of news and sports journalists. The organization’s annual conference includes the Eric Sevareid Awards, named for the North Dakota-born journalist who attended the University of Minnesota and served as a well-known CBS Radio and Television correspondent.
The following MidcoSN® entries received Eric Sevareid honors at the annual banquet and awards ceremony on April 11 in Bloomington, MN:
- Award of Merit for Sports Reporting: Midco Sports Magazine story on Glenn Anderson; Reporter – Tom Nieman; Producers – Josh Munce and Jessi Scherr
- First Place in Large Market TV: MidcoSN Sports Play-By-Play; Announcer – Jay Elsen

They are both excellent examples of our team’s dedication to delivering great stories that captivate audiences – whether in a long-form story or in live game action,” says Mark Powell, who is VP of Midcontinent Business Solutions™ and leads the MidcoSN team.
This is the second year MidcoSN has received Eric Sevareid Awards, which honor the best work of broadcast news operations and journalists in small, medium and large markets in Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Iowa and Nebraska.
