February 26, 2016 – Sioux Falls, SD: Midco Chief Operating Officer Debbie Stang has been named as one of Prairie Business Magazine’s Top 25 Women in Business. The magazine publishes its list of the region’s top female business professionals every spring.
“Debbie Stang is a true leader in our company,” said Pat McAdaragh, Midco President and CEO. “Throughout her 32 years with Midco, she has demonstrated a commitment not only to our company’s success, but to the enhancement of diversity, women’s career development and fairness in the workplace.”
Stang holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University, St. Paul, and joined Midco’s cable division in 1984. She moved to leadership roles in accounting, finance and human resources, and eventually became the company’s first Director of Employee Services and the first Vice President of Human Resources. Stang was named Chief Operating Officer in 2015, and leads more than 1,200 operations employees throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
“Prairie Business Magazine’s Top 25 Women in Business is made up of creative, successful leaders who excel in their work, communities and industries,” said McAdaragh. “Debbie certainly fits the bill. She’s been a well-respected leader not only at Midco, but also in regional and national trade associations.”
In addition to her duties at Midco, Stang serves as on the board for Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). This national-level position follows many years of involvement on the board of the Midwest WICT chapter. Stang completed the WICT Senior Media Summit Executive Education program at the Stanford Business graduate school in 2014 and 2015, attended the Leadership Conference for the past several years and currently serves on the industry Veterans Advisory Council.
