- Date: 7/12/23
Wednesday July 12, 2023 – Grand Forks, ND: As part of its deep commitment to being a force for good in the communities it serves, the Midco Foundation has awarded grants to two Grand Forks organizations. The Grand Forks Foundation for Education and the Grand Forks Parks & Recreation Foundation have been selected as grant recipients because they are positive changemakers in the Grand Forks community.
The Grand Forks Foundation for Education received funds to help support the Little Red Reading Bus program for the 2023 summer session. The grant will support the program’s efforts to cultivate a love for reading among young learners during the summer break.
The Grand Forks Parks & Recreation Foundation received grant funds to help revitalize the family games area at Lincoln Drive Park. These funds will help facilitate the restructure of the area, introducing exciting new features, including gaga ball. This endeavor aims to enrich experiences for families in the Grand Forks community.
“Midco is proud to be able to support organizations like the Grand Forks Foundation for Education and the Grand Forks Parks & Recreation Foundation,” said Wynne Haakenstad, Executive Director of the Midco Foundation. “Their services and projects align beautifully with Midco’s commitment to help strengthen our communities and ignite inspiration and innovation.”
As an integral part of the Grand Forks community, Midco is dedicated to championing causes that matter most to its team members and customers. Midco is proud to sponsor the Alerus Center, the Grand Forks Downtown Development Association, the Grand Forks United Way, Ralph Engelstad Arena and University of North Dakota (UND) Sports. Midco team members enjoy helping out at events like the Alerus Center Trunk or Treat, UND Football, Basketball and Hockey FanFests, UND games and tailgates and National Women’s Sports Day.
