Midco Supports “K-12 Bridge to Broadband” Initiative

Sioux Falls, SD: Midco is continuing its efforts to support education and its local communities by participating in an initiative to help connect more students to broadband for remote and hybrid learning. The K-12 Bridge to Broadband initiative – led by the Internet & Television Association (NCTA) and EducationSuperHighway (ESH) – scales innovative solutions that help public school districts and states identify and potentially connect students in low-income families.

Early in the pandemic, Midco launched Midco Internet Basics to provide connectivity for online learners living in low-income households. Due to increased needs this fall, the internet service provider created the Midco Internet Basics School Program to enable school districts to pay for the service, making sure students have access to internet connectivity. Currently, seven school districts in North Dakota are using the program.

“Our commitment to our customers and the communities we serve is at the forefront of everything we do at Midco. Now, more than ever, families depend on our robust and reliable service,” said Midco President & CEO Pat McAdaragh. “The Midco Internet Basics School Program and this larger K-12 Bridge to Broadband initiative are critical to children’s ongoing educational needs.”
