501 (c) (3) non-profit organizations in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota encouraged to apply.

January 10, 2014 - Sioux Falls, SD: The Midcontinent Foundation is currently accepting grant applications from eligible non-profit organizations in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. The application deadline is 5 PM (CT) on Monday, January 20, 2014.

The Midcontinent Foundation is the charitable arm of the Midcontinent family of companies; established in 1987 to provide funding assistance to charitable entities (as defined by the Internal Revenue Service) that assist in socially-desirable goals within the communities which Midcontinent Media, Inc. and its subsidiaries are a part. Organizations which serve communities within the Midcontinent service area are encouraged to apply for grants for special projects, facilities improvements, equipment, and programs (not operational costs). 

“The Midcontinent Foundation distributed $91,215.00 to charities with fall 2013 grants and, to date, has contributed more than $3 million to support the work of non-profit organizations within Midcontinent’s service area,” says Tom Simmons, Senior Vice President of Public Policy for Midcontinent Communications. “We take our civic responsibility seriously and are honored to uphold the quality work these crucial organizations perform in our region.”

Eligible charities have the opportunity to apply for Midcontinent Foundation grants two times annually, in the spring and fall, when the Midcontinent Foundation Board of Directors meets to review grant applications. Grant applications are available online at Midco.com/Foundation.
