July 21, 2014 - Sioux Falls, SD: Midcontinent Business Solutions announces Barb Fischer as the company’s first Executive Director of Sales. With more than 20 years of operational sales management experience in the telecommunications industry, Barb will guide regional enterprise sales efforts, as well as business-to-business and advertising sales in South Dakota and Minnesota.

Mark Powell, Vice President of Business Solutions for Midcontinent Communications says, “Barb’s industry achievements in building high-performance teams, advancing customer relationships and creating effective internal coalitions are undisputable. As Midcontinent’s Executive Director, she will be well positioned to meet the ever-increasing demand for services from business and enterprise customers.”

Midcontinent Communications’ fiber network continues to grow, recently surpassing 7,200 miles throughout South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota. In addition to Fischer’s employment, the company recently promoted Scott Smidt to Vice President of Business Engineering and Operations. Smidt is further enhancing the productivity of business construction as well as streamlining business and enterprise operations to benefit the company’s clients.
